Have you always wanted to write down your biography or write a thriller?
For two days, the Chesa Grischuna in Klosters is transformed into a writing oasis.
In this hotel steeped in history, the past sizzles just as much as the vibrant present. Every piece of furniture in the house, every nook and cranny whispers its stories to the writers.
The legendary hotel with its illustrious guests, such as former Hollywood greats Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn, Bing Crosby and Gene Kelly, stimulates the imagination and inspires people to write. The wonderful guest book is kept in the hotel safe and may only be touched with white gloves. Perhaps the hotel manager will let us take a look inside?
The time-out is intended for writers with and without experience who would like to retreat to a cozy and elegant ambience in the Swiss mountains. The focus is on the joy of writing, driven by curiosity.
The experienced course leader structures the writing time-out with regular writing prompts. Various methods are used.
Is this your first time writing a poem? Or do you have the first scene of your crime story in your head and don't know exactly how to start? Memories from your childhood pop up that you really want to tell.
In a benevolent presence and encouraging exchange, you put your ideas on paper or type them into your laptop.
The process of writing also includes reading aloud to each other (voluntarily) and listening.
You will get to know an appreciative feedback culture that will give your texts wings.
Anyone who is interested can publish the written texts or excerpts from them in an anthology, which will then be published in the hotel.
Group: 6 to 15 writers *
Course costs: 950 CHF / person - incl. 2 overnight stays with full board and 1 copy of the anthology (additional copies can be purchased at a special price)

Course schedule:
1st day: individual arrival. Check-in at the hotel from 3 p.m., course starts at 4 p.m. 3-course menu at the hotel, individual continuation after dinner.
Day 2: (individual morning fitness), breakfast at the hotel, writing input and individual writing, light lunch, writing, dinner at the hotel
Day 3: (individual morning fitness), breakfast at the hotel, writing exercises, writing strategies for after the course, light lunch, conclusion

To the course management:
Marianne Erne writes stories and poems and worked for many years as an editor and producer for Swiss television. In 2023, the collective novel "Kruttingen - e Dorfgschicht"/Arisverlag was published, which she wrote together with three other authors. She works as an author, journalist and writing coach.
Claudia Frey-Heim loves storytelling. She used to work as an editor and producer for Swiss television and is now a lecturer at the Textakademie in Zurich. Together with Marianne Erne, she organizes writing courses and writing events for companies and edits biographical texts for private individuals.
