During the Second World War, American GI's who had escaped from prison camps to neutral Switzerland were interned in the historic house in the heart of Klosters. The Chesa Grischuna became their favourite pub and hotel. After the war, they returned with their families for a holiday stay. Among them were later film stars, directors and world-famous writers. This is how the hotel soon became affectionately known as «Hollywood on the Rocks».
